Alfredo Zamudio is the director of the Internal Displacement Monitoring Center (IDMC) in Geneva, the world’s global leader in the monitoring and analysis of internal displacement worldwide. Alfredo holds a Master’s in Public Administration, Harvard Kennedy School of Government. He previously worked as a humanitarian aid worker in complex emergencies with missions to Darfur, Timor-Leste, Colombia with the Norwegian Refugee Council and UNHCR. He has engaged with human rights related issues in a variety of contexts since 1982. Alfredo was awarded the Order of Timor-Leste by the Timorese president Jose Ramos Horta, for excellency in humanitarian aid in 2010. In 2012 he was appointed by the Norwegian Leadership Foundation as one of the top 10 most important role models with a migration background in Norway.
