Daphne is doctor in Industrial Design Engineering from the Delft University of Technology, the Netherlands. Her research focuses on design for sustainability and, more specifically, on products and services for empowering end-users during processes of energy transition. Currently, Daphne is a researcher for the smart metering division of Enexis B.V., a distribution system operator for gas and electricity.

Born in the Netherlands, Daphne made her design internship in Santiago de Chile. She has also done research on solar powered product design for the Cartesius Institute in Leeuwarden, the Netherlands, and co-organized the ‘Livinggreen Labs’, a series of EU-funded design workshops aimed at stimulating knowledge exchange between end-users and professionals.
